Biography |
Ikeda Terukata (1883-1921) was a Japanese painter of the Meiji to Showa period. Born in Tokyo. His real name was Seishiro. He stayed in Okayama with Mizuno Toshikata's apprentice then studied under Kawai Gyokudo. He formed the Ugo-kai with Kaburaki Kiyokata and Ono Shizukata, and excelled in genre painting that drew on ukiyo-e. He also participated in the formation of the Jyusui-kai (Hitotsubashi Alumni Association) together with Ishi Rinkyo and others. He was married to Sakakibara Shoen. |
