Ohara Koson (1877-1945) was a Japanese painter and hanga artist of the Meiji to Showa period. Born in Kanazawa, he went under the artist names Shoson and Hoson. He studied under Suzuki Kason and worked on numerous flower and bird hanga works under the guidance of American collector and scholar, Ernest Fenollosa. |
